Welcome to Pierce Elementary School!
Welcome to our Pierce Team! Our staff is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and innovative learning environment where every child can thrive. At the start of the school year, our teachers and staff were trained in the Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) program, a significant part of our approach to promoting social-emotional well-being. This training has equipped them to focus on a child's social-emotional well-being and a relationship-driven campus culture. Our school counselor, Ms. Cordeiro, teaches CKH lessons in every classroom, aiding students in connecting and enhancing the already rich school community. Monthly CKH assemblies will recognize students who are modeling the CKH traits.
This year, we're launching our "Portrait of a Graduate" initiative, a journey we're all part of. This initiative, shaped by the priorities of our community and district, is not just about academics. It's about nurturing well-rounded individuals with essential skills that will serve them beyond graduation. Our students will be honing crucial skills such as communication, collaboration, creative and critical thinking, ethical and global citizenship, and goal-directed, resilient individuals.
This year, the Pierce Panthers will introduce the Watch D.O.G.S. program. Watch D.O.G.S. stands for Dads of Great Students, and it's a school-based father involvement program that we're excited to bring to our Panthers! This program is not just about fathers' involvement; it's about fostering a sense of community where everyone feels included and valued. We believe that parental engagement is crucial, and we encourage all interested fathers to contact our school for more information or to participate in Watch D.O.G.S.
I'm eager to collaborate with our talented staff, engaged parents, and, most importantly, our incredible students. Your involvement is crucial in making this school year truly remarkable.
I am genuinely excited about the upcoming school year and the opportunities it holds for our students, parents, and staff. Together, we can make this a year to remember!
Warm regards,
Dulce Baca
