Welcome to the Principal's Corner of Mrs. Pamela Barnes, proud principal of Pierce School!!
I am so happy that you have decided to check out our Pierce website and have chosen to visit my page!! Here is some information about me you might not know!
I have a Batchelor's Degree in Education from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro.
I have a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from California State University - Bakersfield.
Before becoming a principal I taught a variety of grades in North Carolina, Texas, and California. I started teaching school in 1976, but took a break and stayed home for a few years when my two boys (Joe and Nick) were small.
My husband's name is Charlie and we have been married since 1976! He is an engineer who works on the base. He has a sailboat named Sparrow and he likes to take me sailing on the weekends.
I have been on staff at Pierce Elementary School for twenty five years. For two years before that, I was a parent volunteer because my two boys were going to Pierce School.
Did you know that my favorite animal is the hippopotamus!! When I was a classroom teacher, my students found out that I liked hippos and they started bringing me hippos!! At one time, I had over 300 stuffed hippos!! If you come in my office you will see some of the hippos that my students and friends have given me over the years.
I am very happy to be the principal at Pierce School.
