Principal's Message

Dear Families and Community,

It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself, Traci Freese, as the new principal of Pierce Elementary. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this capacity.  At 6 years of age I set my sights on making a difference in this world through announcing my desire to become an educator. Reflecting on my accomplishments, I realize that my success has been directly related to the positive role models I have had in my life. That truth is what motivates me today.

My passion for providing students with the opportunity to become a positive role model has been shaped over the last 17 years serving the Sierra Sands Unified School District as an elementary classroom teacher for multiple grade levels, devoting many hours to district leadership opportunities, and the last three years, working as a Project Teacher Technology Coach providing all six Sierra Sands elementary schools with technology integration instructional support.

At Pierce, we believe that the success of our students is dependent upon parent partnerships, a nurturing staff, a content-rich curriculum and community alliances. Our campus openly provides opportunities for community members and parents to participate in educational opportunities that enrich the lives of our students. Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the classrooms, organize student activities, attend family nights, and become members of the PTO, the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) or the School Site Council. Our community partners are welcome to visit the classrooms, use their expertise to motivate and encourage student engagement or donate funds toward schoolwide or classroom educational activities.

We believe all students can learn and as educators, we must make a difference in their lives.

We are committed to see to it that every student who walks through Pierce’s door is being prepared to become productive members of our society. Therefore, it is my privilege to join the Pierce Team and continue Pierce’s long history of inspiring excellence, respecting our community and equipping students for a successful future.

I am looking forward to a great year ahead. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at or 760-499-1670 if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas that you would like to discuss.

See you in soon!

Warm regards,

Traci Freese
